Android RSPS clients usually arrive as a Google Play app, a directly downloaded APK, or a browser client. A store app has the easiest update flow. An APK must be downloaded again when the server changes its client unless the app includes its own updater. A browser client starts from a web address and stores its game cache through the browser.

iOS RSPS access normally uses Safari instead of an App Store download. A server can provide a browser client or a Progressive Web App that is added to the Home Screen. An Android APK cannot run on an iPhone, and a desktop Java JAR cannot run directly on normal iOS or Android devices.

A mobile label alone does not prove that both platforms work. Android-only APK support is common. For iPhone or iPad, look for an explicit iOS browser or web-app option before creating an account.

Impact has not published an equivalent iOS client, so iPhone and iPad users should choose a server with explicit browser support. Android players should obtain the APK through Impact's official mobile page and use its support channel for installation problems.

5. Ferox: Android mobile beta

Ferox publishes an Android APK labeled Mobile Beta on its official download page. It is a genuine mobile option, but the beta label means stability, controls, and compatibility may change more often than a finished client.

Ferox does not publish an iOS download. Choose it only for Android, keep the APK current, and avoid unsafe-death content until the client has run reliably on the specific phone and network.

How to install an RSPS on Android safely

Use the Play Now link on the RuneTopList server profile, confirm the official domain, and open its mobile or download page. Use Google Play when the server provides a store listing. For a direct APK, Android may ask permission for the browser or file manager to install that one unknown app.

Download only from the server's official domain. Do not search for a mirrored or modified APK. After installation, remove the browser's permission to install unknown apps if it is no longer needed. Keep Play Protect and the device's normal security settings enabled.

Improve mobile RSPS performance and battery life

Complete the first cache download on Wi-Fi and keep several gigabytes of storage free. In the client, lower render distance, cap frame rate, use low-detail mode, reduce particles, and limit visible players or NPCs when those controls are available.

Heat causes phones to reduce performance. Remove a heat-trapping case, lower screen brightness, stop charging during demanding gameplay, and take a break if the device becomes unusually hot. Test bossing and Wilderness content only after normal combat remains stable without disconnects or delayed taps.

Browser clients can lose a session when the operating system suspends the tab. Do not switch apps during dangerous content, and bank valuable items before testing background behavior.

Protect the phone and game account

Every RSPS is operated separately from Jagex. Create a new password for the private server and never enter a Jagex Account password, bank PIN, email backup code, or official RuneScape recovery information.

A direct APK has more access to the device than an ordinary webpage.
