Redemption RSPS Guide: Slayer and Gear Progression

Redemption is a heavily customized RSPS with its own damage, equipment, Slayer, boss, and upgrade systems. Follow the Task Companion and Slayer unlock order so each purchase advances the account instead of becoming another disconnected custom item.

Use the Task Companion as the account roadmap

Open the teleport interface with Ctrl+T or ::teleports, then identify home, the Grand Exchange, Slayer access, beginner bosses, and the Upgrade Chest. Redemption differs enough from standard RuneScape that its own interfaces should take priority over OSRS assumptions.

The Player's Task Companion is the main beginner checklist. Complete its tasks in order and claim each page of rewards before moving on. Keep the Starter Gem in the inventory while it remains active because it provides early combat and Slayer bonuses.

Claim fixed rewards before farming rare drops

Use ::vote for the available voting reward, complete Task Companion pages, and sell useful surplus through the Grand Exchange. The official beginner route also lists the referral code ultrastart. These fixed rewards establish supplies and a first upgrade without depending on a rare boss roll.

Use the Grand Exchange for buying and selling. Search the exact item, compare active offers, and preserve cash for the next damage breakpoint. A custom item is not an upgrade merely because it is expensive.

Choose a starter boss for the active combat style

Redemption identifies Masterwork Warrior, Cursed Omen, Poseidon, and Malevolent Mourner as beginner bosses. They connect to the first permanent gear steps: Masterwork supports melee, Omen supports ranged, and Poseidon supports magic.

Farm one encounter until its kills are predictable, then compare its equipment with the official gear tier for that combat style. Join announced boss masses when the solo setup cannot clear an encounter efficiently; group participation can expose the mechanics while still producing rewards.

Start Easy Slayer and preserve the task streak

Begin with Easy Slayer assignments. They teach the monster pool, generate Slayer Points and keys, and build the task streak used for milestone point bonuses. Skip only when a task is unrealistic for the current gear; repeatedly searching for a perfect task slows the unlock path.

Save the first 25 Slayer Points for Hard Tasks. Group Slayer costs 150 points, while No XP Waste costs 800 and can double Slayer experience. Do not spend the first points on cosmetic or convenience rewards before Hard Tasks are open.

Save 2,500 Slayer Points for Boss Tasks

Boss Tasks require 2,500 Slayer Points and the appropriate Slayer level range, listed as 120-150. This is the major transition from ordinary assignments into boss-led account progression, so it should remain the main mid-game savings goal.

Non-ironman beginners can sell ordinary Slayer Keys when the guaranteed sale funds a stronger upgrade. Ironman accounts may need to open keys because they cannot buy the resulting supplies or equipment from another player. Reach level 150 Slayer before planning the prestige system.

Follow one official gear ladder at a time

Tier 1 begins with the starter set and starter weapon. Early tier-2 targets differ by style: Poseidon equipment and Elemental Fury Staff for magic, Omen equipment and Descimator9000 for ranged, or Masterwork equipment and Masterwork Sword for melee.

Upgrade one slot at a time and use the closest available alternative when an exact item is unavailable. Damage and Slayer pets serve different goals, so equip the pet that improves the activity currently being repeated rather than treating one pet as universal best-in-slot.

Protect valuable items at the Upgrade Chest

The Upgrade Chest at ::upgrade displays the required materials and success chance. An unprotected failed upgrade can destroy the items. Use an upgrade protection card or the displayed cash protection option whenever losing the input would break the progression route.

An upgrade attempt is worthwhile when the expected combat improvement beats a direct Grand Exchange purchase and the account can absorb the failure or protection cost. Never place an irreplaceable item into the interface before reading the current chance and protection state.
